Valla 20D TRX – the multi-task mini crane for construction
Best use of resources – personnel, material and machines – is critical on a modern construction site, which is why tracked mini cranes, such as the Valla 20D TRX, are in popular demand.
In the past, the traditional tower crane was relied upon for most lifting tasks on larger sites, especially obviously for high rise projects.
But the speed with which construction projects must now be completed, and the complexities of modern buildings means project managers are turning to Hird to supply pick and carry cranes in increasing numbers.
Mini cranes, often called compact cranes, are commonly used for glass handling, where repeated multiple operations and a continuous process are critical to efficiency.
Now pick and carry cranes are being used for other tasks on buildings sites, for example moving and placing timber shuttering and steel-framed formwork moulds.
Shuttering and formwork are both used to create the building shapes into which concrete is poured. On larger projects, hundreds of these ‘forms’ are used and have to be constantly put in place and moved as the building work progresses.
The Valla 20D TRX supplied by Hird is perfect for many aspects of this shuttering and formwork task. It’s a diesel tracked mini crane so operates outdoors across all types of terrain.
It has a lifting capacity of 2 tonnes so is capable of lifting a wide range of shuttering forms, yet is small and agile enough, as a pick and carry crane, to be moved quickly around busy building sites.
Using a tracked mini crane like the Valla 20D TRX for continuous processes like concrete shuttering frees up the site’s static tower cranes to focus on other tasks.
Contact Hird to find out more about how our mini cranes, both diesel pick and carry cranes and electric models, can improve efficiency on construction sites.
