Vacuum Glass Lifters
Glass vacuum lifter technology is developing and changing all the time – and Hird is committed to staying at the forefront to provide the best vacuum lifter solutions for our customers.
Vacuum glass lifters have to be able to manage new designs and shapes made possible by innovative glass technology and the race to develop ever more spectacular buildings.
One vacuum lifter that typifies this rapid development is the DSZ2 12V Curved, available for hire from Hird. This powerful vacuum lifter is designed specifically for lifting curved glass panels.
The glass can be concave or convex sheets. The DSZ2 12V vacuum glass lifter has a lift capacity of either 400Kg or 600kg.
It has up to 24 vacuum pads on a flexible frame, so each pad on the DSZ2 12V Curved can hold the glass firmly, allowing an operator to lift and manipulate the glass sheet with confidence.
Glass handling is optimised with tilt and rotation features. Safety features for the DSZ 12V Curved now include hydraulically assisted tilt to aid the operator. All of Hird’s vacuum lifters include powerful dual, independent circuits so if one set of vacuum lifters fails, the other will hold firm. It also has a low vacuum alert.
Hird’s range of vacuum lifters can also be used to lift a range of other materials, including plastic sheet, steel, aluminium, plasterboard, concrete and wood.
Hird can supply a range of UNIC and Valla mini cranes, ideal for use with our glass vacuum lifter attachments.
We also have a fleet of modern, industry-leading glazing robots. Makes of these dedicated glass lifting machines, available for hire, include Winlet, Glaslift Geko and Vacuum Tech.
Our glass lifting equipment, including vacuum lifters, can be hired from any one of our three strategically-placed depots.
The Southern Depot covers London and the South, our Central Depot serves the Midlands and our Northern Depot and head office is in Hull, Yorkshire.
