Product of the Month – Valla 20E TRX pick and carry crane
Those immensely brawny power lifters who can raise the weight of an elephant sitting on a leather sofa above their heads are impressive.
But what if they could then pace confidently about the stage, plonking the bemused jumbo down and picking it up again as they go, instead of just wobbling while trying to stand still? That would be a neat trick.
Which brings us to our Product of the Month for May – because the Valla 20E TRX pick and carry crane is designed to do just that. Pick things up, carry them somewhere else, and put them down again (very gently). Or, in the case of glass installation, often raise them up.
This capability is immensely beneficial in a wide range of applications. In some sectors, however, there are still organisations that are not taking full advantage of it.
The Valla 20E TRX has another performance advantage. As a tracked pick and carry crane, it is designed to operate particularly well over uneven or unstable ground, or across delicate surfaces.
The mini crane has a maximum safe working load of two tonnes, so can lift the weight of an elephant. A fully-grown Asian elephant weights between 2 and 5 tonnes. For an African elephant, you would need something like a Valla 75E, which can lift 7.5 tonnes.
The pick and carry crane can lift 0.4 tonnes at its maximum radius of 2.7 metres and 0.8 tonnes at a maximum tip height of 4.4 metres.
As a highly compact crane, and just 950mm wide, it can be driven through a double doorway with ease.
Valla pick and carry cranes are, perhaps, most closely associated with industrial applications. They are designed to operate in manufacturing environments, where products and machinery must be lifted and moved as part of a manufacturing or equipment maintenance process.
A key benefit is reducing manual handling and simplifying processes. For example, one crane may be used to lift materials or machinery parts off a lorry, then take them into a production area.
The same mini crane can be used to move unfinished products on to following production stages, then lift a finished product onto another vehicle for delivery to a customer.

The Valla 20E TRX mini crane fits perfectly into this equation. It is particularly suited for lifting tasks on construction sites and for both internal and external building maintenance tasks.
Its rubber tracks allow the mini crane to traverse ground that’s out of bounds for wheeled cranes. As a low load bearing machine, it is also well-suited to be operated across delicate finished floors, often in conjunction with specialist matting.
The crane can be combined with lifting accessories to support specific tasks, such as steel erection, curtain walling installation and fitting of unitised glass panels.

Also, with the pick and carry crane’s remote-control function, the crane operator can move to the best location to view and manage the lift.
Last but not least, the Valla 20E TRX is an electric crane. So, it is fume-free and emission-free, making it a sustainable option that minimises our customers’ carbon footprint.
