Product of the Month – Valla 50E pick and carry crane

Our Product of the Month for September is the Valla 50E electric pick and carry crane.

first electric production car 1985

With so much talk of electric cars and the demise of petrol and diesel engines, you would have thought electric vehicles were a new thing.

Consider this though. The first production electric car is credited to have been built in Wolverhampton in 1895.

First Electric Milk Float 1947

The first electric milk float hit the roads in 1947. It had three wheels so it could turn easily in a cul-de-sac.

And the first overhead electric crane was built even earlier, in 1876, to hoist guns at the Royal Arsenal gun factory in London.

So electric vehicles and cranes are not new. What is, though, is the growing interest in switching to electric lifting.

Electric mini crane

Which is where the Valla 50E industrial pick and carry crane comes in.

Incidentally, like the first electric milk float, the Valla 50E has three wheels – two front ones and a wheel in an articulating rear axle, making the crane highly maneuverable. Not necessarily in a cul-de-sac.

The Valla 50E pick and carry crane has a maximum safe load of 5,000kg yet is just 1.6m wide and 3m long, which is why Vallas are also called compact cranes or small cranes.

Its three section boom has a maximum tip height of 7.4m at which it can lift 1,100kg and a maximum radius of 5m, at which the crane can lift 800kg.

As an electric mini crane, the Valla 50E has some key advantages over diesel-powered variants.

It is fume-free so is ideal for indoor and clean environments. It is also low-noise. This can be crucial in environments where noise can compromise safety or precision operations.

As an electric crane, the Valla 50E also contributes to reducing its user’s carbon footprint.

Aviation mini crane

A good example is aviation hangars, where large multi-disciplinary teams much work quickly and safety to high quality standards on complex engineering tasks.

Electric Valla cranes supplied by Hird, a worldwide distributor of aviation cranes for Manitex Valla, can also be used for both indoor and outdoor tasks, greatly enhancing the flexibility of aircraft maintenance.

The long-lasting batteries in the Valla 50E mini crane deliver a full shift’s work between charges, so there is no compromise on lifting power or productivity.

As a pick and carry crane, the Valla 50E also makes lifting methodologies in many environments simpler and safer. One crane can often replace multiple items of equipment and lifting methods and greatly reduce the need for manual handling.

Industrial crane hire

These attributes are increasingly making Valla industrial crane hire a first choice for companies seeking more sustainable lifting solutions.

In many circumstances, a Valla 50E electric mini crane will provide the least polluting and most energy efficient lifting solution.

It will also provide the most productive and flexible lifting solution, and the safest one too, not least because it will be the simplest.

Valla 50E compact cranes hired from Hird are used for a huge range of tasks – including steel erection, glass installation, curtain wall installation, machinery maintenance and art installation.
