Product of the Month – Valla 250E pick and carry crane
Think of a bodybuilder at peak competition condition – and that’s Hird’s Valla 250E pick and carry crane, our October Product of the Month.
Every gramme of the mechanically muscular Valla 250E has purpose. The mini crane looks the part and performs brilliantly in a wide range of lifting scenarios from machinery moving to construction and structure maintenance.
The Valla 250E is extraordinarily compact for an industrial mini crane with amazing lifting performance, in terms of load weight and size, and flexible load control.
Lifting in most challenging spaces
It is the most powerful machine in the Hird pick and crane hire fleet, with a maximum safe working load of 25 tonnes. That’s enough to lift the weight of 20 Mini Cooper cars.
Yet it can lift, move and place loads with the same extraordinary precision and as all other Hird compact industrial cranes, working in the most constrained conditions, in challenging spaces like factories, aircraft hangers, and underground road, rail and service tunnels.
As a battery electric mini crane with non-marking tyres it is as much at home being operated indoors and outdoors, with generating zero emissions and near-zero noise for sustainable and safe lifting in clean manufacturing and high risk engineering environments.
In its fixed hook configuration, the Valla 250E pick and carry crane has a maximum working height of 13.2m (with a SWL of 3.6 tonnes). In terms of reach, it has a maximum radius of 9.2m (delivering a SWL of 1.9t). Total machine weight is 24.2 tonnes.
Sit-in cab or wireless remote control
Yet, it is only 4,832mm long from front to rear bumper, just 400mm more than the popular Nissan Qashqai family SUV. It is also just 2,150mm wide. That’s a mere 56mm more than the same car.
It means the Valla 250E mini crane has a heck of a lot of lifting power squeezed into footprint smaller than a standard parking place.
What is more, thanks to the Valla 250E’s articulating rear axle, a design shared with other Valla pick and carry cranes, it can be moved into the optimum lifting position in the tightest of spaces, then be repositioned with the load on the hook, if need be.
Controlling lifts is made easier with two ways to operate the crane. The operator can work from an enclosed cab, or using a wireless remote control unit, so the lift can always be safely managed from the most advantageous position.
Safest and most cost-effecting crane lifting
Meanwhile, the advanced battery and power control systems ensure that the crane will keep on working for a long shift and beyond, with no loss of capability.
Also, like all Valla pick and carry cranes Hird operates, it has a high-performance 3B6 digital load monitoring system to support safe and operationally optimised lifting.
Flexibility is enhanced by the way the Valla 250E can be combined with lifting accessories, including a winch or a hook block.
It can also be fitted with a hydraulic fork attachment to lift palletised loads, including materials or machinery, with a maximum SWL of 10 tonnes, a capacity at maximum height (12.8m) of 800kg and at maximum radius (11m) of 100kg.
Hird can offer Valla mini cranes for hire with capacities from the Valla 20E TRX (SWL 2T) right up to the 250E’s 25t. It means our clients can select precisely the right crane for the job in hand.
There is no compromise. The best solution can be selected every time: that means safest, quickest, most cost-effective and most sustainable method for completing any lifting task.
