CPCS A61 Appointed Person

CPCS Training Course

The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) provides skills cards for the plant sector of the construction and allied industries. It was launched in 2003 and since then over 300,000 cards have been issued. It is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the construction plant industry. It helps to prove workers’ operating skills and health and safety awareness.

Successful candidates on CPCS tests receive a red CPCS Trained Operators Card, valid for a period of 2 years. Candidates are required to achieve the appropriate NVQ within the 2-year life of the red CPCS Trained Operators Card to progress on to a blue CPCS Competent Operator Card.

Candidates who already hold the appropriate NVQ and provide proof of this (NVQ and unit credit certificates required) shall go straight to a blue CPCS Competent Operator Card.
