Shed expansion
Demand for the specialist vacuum lifters is growing fast. To be honest, given the extraordinary growth in the square footage of sheds in the UK, there is little wonder.
The UK is in the midst of a record-breaking boom in the construction of mega sheds, all driven by the online retail market, given a boost by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Warehouse floorspace greater than twice the size of Hyde Park in London was due to be added in 2021 alone.
One million square feet ‘Mega Sheds’ – 13 times the size of the Wembley pitch – are becoming increasingly common.
Highly adaptable
Speed, ease of construction, and safety are major concerns for cladding installers – and Righetti cladding lifters deliver on all three.
The Righetti CL1-6 vacuum lifter has six suction pads, each one 800mm long and 120mm wide.
These are designed to fit into the trapezoidal grooved sections of most cladding panels and to also to lift micro-ribbed panels, another common design feature.
It can be configured in a number of different ways to lift roof panels or wall panels of varying sizes.
For example, when set up in a wall configuration, an extension arm can be added that makes the cladding lifter 6490mm long.
Maximising safety
The Righetti CL1-6 has a maximum lifting capacity of 400kg and is battery powered with an onboard 110v charger.
Maximising safety is a key concern, as with all Righetti vacuum lifter products. It is why the cladding lifter has independent dual circuit vacuum systems.
That means, if one circuit fails, the other one will continue to hold the load, protecting operative, the cladding panel and surrounding structures.
Also, if the operative needs to control the cladding panel lift from a remote position, there is the option of using a wireless remote control to do so.
The Righetti CL1-6 cladding lifter weighs between 134kg and 213kg, depending on its configuration, and has a transport stand to easily move the it to a lifting location and to store it.
Mini crane options
It is just one in a range of Righetti cladding lifters available for hire and sale from Hird. They include the Righetti CL1-4, which has a capacity of 250kg and the CL-W, which can lift 375kg.
