Product of the Month – Grove GMK 4100L 100 tonne crane
It may look like a bit of a lumbering monster, but our Grove GMK 4100L all terrain mobile crane is very nimble on its feet – well, actually, on its wheels.
It’s the largest crane in the Hird crane hire fleet, and is one of the most flexible pieces of lifting equipment we have – so we’re pleased to make it the Product of the Month for October.
Our Grove GMK 4100L mobile crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes. With a 60 metres boom, it has excellent reach, and can lift up to 1.6 tonnes at a radius of 48 metres.
Go anywhere – lift anything
Lift anything? Of course, in reason. But this mobile crane is always in demand for a range of lifting projects. From construction to demolition, steel erection to marine maintenance.
One of its key qualities is its Megatrak independent suspension and all wheel steering. This gives the Grove GMK 4100L mobile crane its all-terrain capability.
At just 10.7m long, the crane carrier’s chassis is compact and highly manoeuvrable.
Excellent lift control
The mobile crane gives crane hire customers excellent lift control through the combination of Grove’s robust crane design, matched with the latest digital computer systems.
Its Electronic Crane Operating System – ECOS – gives the crane operative full control over the crane’s main operations. Simple programming makes lift planning easy.
The mobile crane also has a separate command and control system which can work in conjunction with the ECOS or operate separately as a load moment indicator.
Comprehensive lifting
This is the second Grove mobile crane in the Hird crane hire fleet. We already had a Grove GMK 3050 mobile crane, which has a maximum lifting capacity of 50 tonnes.
It means Hird can offer a wide range of lifting services. The company has one of the UK’s largest mini crane hire fleets, with a wide range of Valla pick and carry cranes and spider cranes, from Maeda and UNIC, on offer.
