Hird Managing Director Phil Hird said:
“We offer smart lifting, materials handling and working at height solutions that enhance health and safety and increase productivity.
“Companies in many sectors, such as construction facilities management, machinery moving and plant and factory maintenance, see the value of combining the latest technology and excellent training.
“Any firms attending the Safety and Health Expo that want to know more about how to maximise the safety of their lifting operations would be more than welcome to stop by our stand.”
Hird is the authorised UK and Ireland distributor for Winlet glazing robots. Hird will be showcasing the Winlet 350, which can lift, carry, manipulate and place, with total precision, panels of glass and other non-porous materials weighing up to 350kg.
The glazing robot, with its array of four vacuum suction cups, eliminates manual handling hazards and significantly reduces the risk of damage to glass panels and surrounding fittings, during the installation process.
The Woods Powrgrip P11104 glass vacuum lifter, which has four suction cups in line, can be combined with a Valla mini crane or a UNIC spider crane to create another highly-effective glass handling solution.
It can lift glass sheets weighing up to 320 kg. Hird can supply glass vacuum lifters with varying load capacities, reaching the Hydraulica 2000’s impressive 2,000kg.
Lifting, manual handling and powered access training is delivered at Hird’s purpose-designed training centres, or at a client’s site, if facilities are suitable. Most courses can be tailored to specific business needs.
Phil Hird said:
“Training is not just about making sure your staff, clients and the general public stay safe. It also opens up new business opportunities, improves productivity and increases staff morale, improving retention and reducing costs.”
Hird training courses, alongside a range of machinery services – including mini crane hire and sales, glass handling equipment hire and sales, powered access hire, and 3B6 load monitoring systems – are available nationally, via three regional operating centres.
