Growing market

We are excited to be reintroducing these excellent Italian machines to the UK market – and the Oil&Steel Snake 2010H truck mounted platform typifies why we believe they will be very popular.

For a variety of reasons, there is a growing market for truck mount platforms in the UK:

  • Major telecommunication infrastructure programmes like the 5G roll-out require flexible, safe and fast multi-site working at height capabilities.
  • Tree management is rapidly moving away from rope access to working from mobile elevating working platforms (MEWPs), a process accelerated by the scourge of ash dieback.
  • Property landlords and construction companies are seeking more flexible and cost-effective ways for contractors to work at height on their assets, and truck mounts are often an ideal solution.

snake 2010h plus van mount can be driven on a standard driving license

Car licence

The Oil&Steel Snake 2010H is a fully articulating boom lift mounted on a 3.5t IVECO chassis. The weight is important because it means the vehicle can be driven and operated using a standard car licence.

The truck mount provides a maximum working height of 20m and maximum outreach of 10.2m, both industry-leading figures. With a basket capacity of 225kg, two people can work at height at the same time, or one person with plenty of tools.

The Oil&Steel Snake 2010H has a lot of smart design features and functions that are all focused on one thing – allowing an operator to work safely and effectively at height across multiple sites (actually, that might be three things).

Smaller footprint

A lot of thought has gone into reducing its operating footprint so the truck mount can work in restricted space. This includes a computer-controlled safety system that allows outriggers to be set in different positions to take account of space and obstacles in the set-up areas.

Combined with a fast set-up system and one touch automatic stowing of the boom, an operator using an Oil&Steel Snake 2010H will spend the minimum amount of time on anything other than working at height.

The old adage ‘Time is Money’ may be an old adage but it’s still a true one.

If you are a 5G telecommunications installer or maintenance specialist, being able to get to seven sites in a shift, instead of five, because you are operating a Snake 2010H truck mount becomes highly relevant.

Smart functions

The truck mount has many other smart functions that support productivity and safety, including the ability to raise and lower vertically without having to adjust controls.

Simple design solutions, such as full access to the cab with outriggers extended make the Snake 2010H truck mounted platform a firm favourite with operatives.

Rugged build, excellent reliability and highly intuitive controls also makes the machine a big favourite with truck mount rental specialists. They know their customers will be getting the most out of the excellent features.
