Product of the Month – Woods Powr-Grip P11104

Product of the Month – Woods Powr-Grip P11104

We do not like to just showcase the new and shiny lifting equipment on Product of the Month, which is why for November, we are talking about the Woods Powr-Grip P11104.

That said, there is nothing old and fuddy duddy about this vacuum lifter. It is one of the most popular pieces of glass lifting equipment we have in our inventory, and is fully up to date with the latest specifications.

The P11104 four-in-line vacuum lifter is light, at just 34kg, and easy to work with, but it has an impressive lifting capacity of 320kg. This makes it ideal for many low to mid-range weight lifting tasks.

Ford Focus of glass lifting

Let’s compare the P11104 glass lifter to the cars we all drive. We would say it is broadly equivalent to a high-spec Ford Focus.

A recognised leader in its class, trusted and relied on by many, and still packed with all the important features that flashier motors offer at a higher cost. It is also very easy and safe to operate.

The P11104 glass lifter has a dual circuit vacuum system for safe and powerful lifting. Its four 305mm-diameter cups securely hold a range of non-porous materials, including glass, plastic, metal and stone.

Vacuum lifter safety and performance

Along with all Woods Powr-Grip material lifters, the P11104 has excellent safety features for keeping the load secure during lifting, and ensuring the safety of operational teams.

Along with the dual vacuum pumps, it has a low vacuum alert, and digital vacuum switches, with a two-button fast release system that reduces the risk of accidental load release. The vacuum lifter’s push button controls are right at the operator’s fingertips.

There is also an option for remote control of the vacuum lifter, so the operator can always have the best view of the lift in progress and the area around it.

The P11104 glass vacuum lifter has a lift bar with adjustable lift points, so it can be set up in the ideal configuration for each lift. It can also be manually rotated through 180-degrees, and tilted between horizontal and vertical planes.

Power for the lifter is provided by a rechargeable battery, so there are no power cables to deal with during vacuum lifts. An optional short hook is also available when fitting glass under overhangs.

P11104 perfection for many jobs

The P11104 vacuum lifter’s versatility makes it popular for a wide range of glass lifting project, from installing glass in new housing, to shop window glass installation, and escalator and stairwell glass installation.

A project it was an ideal choice for was the construction of a glass flood wall in East Yorkshire, to protect the village of Paull during high tides along the River Humber.

The building contractor selected a P11104 and an MRT4 vacuum lifter for the installation of hundreds of panels of toughened glass.

Hird has a wide range of equipment that glazing contractors can use in conjunction with the glass vacuum lifter, including Maeda spider cranes, Valla pick and carry cranes and counterbalance floor cranes.
