Product of the Month – Pop Up + low-level Personnel lift
As the late great Tina Turner put it: “Simply the Best!”
Our Product of the Month for June, the Pop Up + low-level personnel lift, is proof that is the case.
Because, when it comes to working at low level height, the Pop Up + is a proven powered access platform that is very simple to operate.
To put a scientific spin on it, there are plenty of boffins who have argued that a tendency to increased complexity drives evolution.
Battery powered
It could be why we have all found ourselves saying: “Life is just getting too complicated!”
But the Pop Up + just shows progress often involves keeping things simple, so least effort is needed to complete important tasks.
The Pop Up + battery powered personnel lift gives an operative the opportunity to work safely at a maximum height of 4.6m.
As its name suggests, the access platform is ideal for carrying out tasks that might be helped by setting up quickly and get a job done as efficiently as possible, in multiple locations.
The Pop Up + is an electric personnel lift designed for indoor use for a wide range of tasks.
Push-around platform
They include machinery and building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, pipe and duct installation, painting and decorating, and structural inspections.
It has a maximum platform height of 2.6m plus a lift capacity of 240kg, even though it weighs just 275kg.
Just 520mm wide, it can be easily guided through a single doorway.
The Pop Up + is a push-around platform. Castor wheels allow an operative to move the personnel lift to a working site in areas where space is limited – then position it precisely for each task.
When work needs to start, manually-operated castor brakes ensure the platform remains safe and secure.
Safer option
The platform’s powerful battery gives Hird’s Pop Up + enough juice to be operated for a full shift on one charge, making sure work at height projects can be completed productively.
The Pop Up + is an excellent alternative to other low-level working systems – notably aluminium towers.
Tower systems take time to be assembled and disassembled. They can take up more space than a Pop Up + personnel lift. Also, they are not always easy to move quickly between work locations.
By contrast, the Pop Up + personnel lift is highly mobile, takes seconds to set up, and allows work to be carried out at multiple locations in one shift.
It also eliminates safety concerns relating to ladder systems.
HSE records show falls from ladders remain one of the main causes of workplace deaths and serious injury.
Safety features
Covering the working height range possible with the Pop Up + would require several types of ladders and associated safety systems.
With the Pop Up +, one platform fits all needs. What is more, no stabilisers are needed, making platform set up easy and simple.
It also has safety features that protect the operative during its use. These include a tilt sensor, saloon style gates that close automatically when entering and leaving the platform, and an emergency lowering lever.
Our Pop Up + personnel lift is also easy to transport in a van.
The platform is just one in a range of low-level personnel lifts and personnel masts available for hire from Hird.
Others include the BoSS X3X push-around personnel lift, which has a battery electric lift system and maximum working height of 5.2m.
Mast booms
If a personnel mast boom is preferred, there is the Genie GR20, with a working height of 8.1m – and the Haulotte Star 10 and JLG T10, both of which deliver working heights of 10.1.
The Haulotte and JLG personnel masts also have articulating jibs for working up and over obstacles and reaching multiple locations from one position.
All three personnel masts booms have battery electric drive as well as electric lift.
Hird’s Pop Up + low-level personnel lift makes working at low level height safer, easier, more productive – and simpler.
As an easy-to-operate platform with a simple design, it also provides excellent reliability.
The Pop Up + personnel lift proves simple is often best and safest.
