The Oil&Steel Snake 2010H Plus is an articulating boom lift on a 3.5t IVECO chassis, which means it can be driven on a standard car licence.
Truck-mount platforms – the advantages
Its large basket has a 225kg capacity, allowing two people to work at height, or one person with plenty of tools and materials.
The truck mount provides an industry-leading maximum working height of 20m, with a maximum working outreach of 10.2m.
The truck-mounted platform, often referred to simply as a ‘truck-mount’, takes with it other key advantages on a day’s (or night’s) working at height. They include:
- Compact and lightweight design – The truck-mounted platform has broadly the same footprint as a standard panel van (it is just 6900mm long). This allows it to be moved through, and into, constrained space. It is also designed to be light on its wheels, so can be operated over low load-bearing surfaces, such as paved areas.
- Fast and simple set-up – The Oil&Steel Snake 2010H Plus can quickly be positioned and set up for working at height, with its excellent outreach allowing it to boom over obstacles. This reduces the amount of time spent on a task at each site, maximising the truck-mount’s utilisation.
- Flexible stabilisation options – The access platform’s computer-controlled outriggers can be configured in different ways, depending on the task being carried out and site conditions.
- For example, they can be fully deployed to maximise the working envelope. Or they can be operated in a closed position, or on one side of the vehicle only, if space is limited. In all cases, the working envelope is automatically set to ensure safe working.
- Simple and safe to operate – The double pantograph lift system on the Oil&Steel Snake 2010H Plus means it can track a vertical surface without the need to adjust controls, making the truck-mount easier, faster and safer to operate.
- Smart controls – This ease-of-use also extends to other features, including a one-touch homing button, that automatically returns the basket to its stowed position. Meanwhile, the well thought-out design makes the vehicle easy and comfortable to operate in all configurations.
The design and capabilities of the Oil&Steel Snake 2010H Plus truck-mounted platform make it ideal for a wide range of working at height tasks, especially across multiple locations. They include:
- Lighting maintenance or installation
- Roof maintenance
- Tree management – especially in public squares, along streets or in urban parks
- Building inspection and maintenance
- Event set-up, for example promotional banner installation
- Outdoor screen installation and maintenance
