Product of the Month – Genie Z45/25 XC boom lift
As the saying goes, when the going gets tough – get yourself a Genie Z45/25 XC boom lift from Hird.
Actually, that is not how the saying goes. But for the purposes of our Product of the Month for November, we stand by the quote.
Our new Genie Z45/25 XC boom lifts are among the newest platforms on our fleet and are bound to be popular with our customers.
The platforms are beefed up versions of our Genie Z45/25s that are already go-to platforms in our cherry picker hire fleet.
But they come with additional features that make them particularly useful if you need to do particularly chunky jobs at height.
Our new Genie diesel-powered 45/25 XC platforms provide a maximum working height of 15.9m (45ft) and a maximum outreach of 7.6m (25ft).
X-tra basket capacity
The XC stands for extra capacity.
The standard Z45/25 cherry picker has perfectly useful basket capacity of 227kg.
With XC versions, this is doubled to a maximum capacity of a whopping 454kg.
A bit of explanation – Genie calls the configuration ‘dual envelope’.
The 454kg capacity is available within a slightly restricted envelope which reaches up to 2m inside the maximum working height and outreach.
hat easily allows two personnel plus plenty of tools and materials to work comfortably at height – and supporting productive and flexible working by reducing the need to descend to replenish supplies or swap tools.
In an outer envelope zone, basket capacity is 300kg, which is still substantially more than standard Z45/25 platforms.
Productive and safe
Our new Genie Z45/25 XC platforms are also configured to maximise productivity at whatever height it is operating.
They have onboard generators to provide AC electrical power in the basket.
The platforms are self-levelling for fast and safe set-up at the worksite. It can also be driven at full height and at full capacity.
Zero tail swing, vertical boom tracking and a 1.52m jib make controlling the boom and basket positioning more precise and safer. They also reduce the times the platform needs to be repositioned.
Fully proportional controls and the thumb rocker steering system add to safety and precision, and the ease with which the platform can be controlled.
While there is a full suite of the latest stability sensors and alarms greatly enhancing the safety of operators and those around them.
No stuck in the mud
There are so many great things to say about our new Genie Z45/25 XC boom lifts that its stand-out features just keep on coming.
For example, they are also rough terrain boom lifts, with active oscillating axles and four-wheel drive. Stowed gradeability is 45%. The Genie Z45/25 XC is no stuck in the mud.
This makes them ideal for construction site operation, especially for tasks like steel erection, curtain wall cladding and glass installation.
They are also perfectly designed to support building maintenance and many other tasks, such as low level telecommunications mast installation.
Genie are market leaders because they design and build great platforms, then keep improving them – and a Z45/25 XC is the perfect example.
