Product of the Month – Genie GS-1432m electric scissor lift
It’s the scissor lift that can do everything well – our Product of the Month for March is the Genie GS-1432m.
Like the kid we all knew at school who you can’t help be impressed with because they’re academic, sporty and good fun too, this is the scissor lift our platform hire customers turn to time and again.
The Genie GS-1432m – the m stands for Micro, reflecting its compact design – is a highly versatile low-level slab scissor lift that is just as much at home in internal environments as it is working outdoors.
It is powered by Genie’s E-Drive system – with sealed AC motors that deliver zero-fuss, highly reliable performance, protected against water and dust ingress, with no risk of hydraulic oil spills.
The much higher efficiency of the drive system compared with hydraulic drive, combined with proportional controls, contributes to very long run times, plus oodles of power that makes moving and placing the platform easier and safer.
Designed for constrained space
To the key performance numbers then: the Genie GS-1432m electric scissor lift has a maximum working height of 6.3m indoors and 5.66m outdoors.
The scissor lift is just 810mm wide and 1880mm high, including rail height, so can be moved through most single doorways. For the record, the platform is 1440mm long.
In fact, the compactness of the Genie GS-1432m electric scissor lift is one of its key features – it is designed to be operated with ease in highly constrained spaces.
The platform has a zero inside turning radius, which helps the operative to move it into optimal positions that maximise safety and productivity.
Also, at 900kg in weight, the scissor lift is ideal for working across sensitive and low load bearing floors, while it has a gradeability of 25%.
Smart indoor-outdoor switch
The Genie GS-1432m platform is 1400mm long – with a slide-out extension desk that increases that size to 2000mm – and is 770mm wide.
It has a lift capacity of 227kg, enough for two operatives to work together at height indoors, if that is necessary. For outdoor working, only one operative is permitted on the platform.
The scissor lift can be driven at full height, is fitted with non-marking tyres and also has retractable pothole guards, enhancing safety when working across potentially uneven ground.
Its user-friendly Smart Link™ dual-zone controls allow operatives to switch performance parameters instantly between indoor and outdoor settings, to aid safe and productive working.
Excellent utilisation
The Genie GS-1432m low-level scissor lift can be used to carry out a huge range of tasks, something our hire customers love because it maximises utilisation.
This flexibility has the potential to reduce the number of platforms needed to complete multiple tasks, reducing overall hire costs, as well as equipment clutter on busy sites.
As such, it is often the first platform considered for fit-out work during the latter stages of construction projects because it can be shared by different technical teams, maximising productivity.
For example, the Genie GS-1432m is ideal for indoor and outdoor lighting, electrical and mechanical installation, plus ducting and air conditioning system installation.
Sustainability built-in
The scissor lift is also commonly used for installing false ceilings and pipework, for structure and equipment cleaning, building inspection, maintenance work and painting and decorating.
As an electric scissor lift, the Genie G-1432m delivers low noise and zero-emission performance, has a low carbon footprint and contributes to our customers’ sustainability commitments.
If this platform just is not large enough for your needs, Hird has electric scissor lifts for hire right up to working heights of 23m.
They include the Genie GS-2632 (9.9m), the Genie GS-4047 (13.9m), and the Dingli JCPT2212DC (22m).
