Product of the Month – Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 800 glass vacuum lifter

Product of the Month – Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 800 glass vacuum lifter

Style and substance do not always go hand-in-hand. But they certainly do with the Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 800 glass vacuum lifter – the Hird Product of the Month for March.

It is one of the most eye-catching machines in the Hird glass lifter hire fleet, thanks to its graceful lines and pleasing curves.

But let’s not get too carried away here. The Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 800 is as practical as any glass vacuum lifter Hird hires out, thanks to smart design and excellent build quality.

Ultimate glass lifting flexibility

And, in fact, it is two vacuum lifters in one. In terms of lifting capacity, the vacuum lifter sits in the middle of the Hird range, with a maximum lifting capacity of 800kg.

That is achieved by fixing four easy-to-attach lifting arms, each with its own suction pad, to the central four-pad unit.

Without the lifting arms, the compact central unit by itself can lift up to a maximum of 400kg, and becomes the Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 400.

The machine can also be adapted to become an inline vacuum lifter. This is achieved by attaching two lifting arms and removing two of the 360mm-wide suction pads on the central unit.

The result is a vacuum lifter configured for lifting glazed panels up to 2620mm long.

To complete the picture, in its most compact format, with just the central unit in operation, the Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro vacuum lifter’s pads cover an area measuring 875mm by 745mm.

With all four lifting arms in use, the pads extend to 2370mm by 1450mm.

Strong safety features

The Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 800 is powered by a lithium battery, which can be topped up with the vacuum lifter’s onboard charger.

As with other vacuum lifters offered by Hird, it has dual suction circuits. It means that, in the unlikely event of one of circuits failing, the other one will continue to safely hold the load.

The LiftMaster Quadro 800 has also been awarded a GS Mark, a German safety standard and, says Bohle, was the first battery operated glass vacuum lifter to be granted the certification.

Its sleek looks are not just for show. Curved bars that enclose the lifting arms and the central hub allow operatives to easily control the vacuum lifter.

Meanwhile, all air lines and cables are stored neatly in the lifting arms. So there is no risk of them being snagged or damaged.

Glass panels can be rotated continuously through 3600 and tilted through 900 from the horizontal to the vertical. The load can also be locked firmly in place in 12 positions.

Midfield glass lifting maestros

The Bohle LiftMaster Quadro Pro 800 vacuum lifter joins other excellent lifters in the middle of Hird’s glass lifting range in terms of lifting capacity.

Referring to it as a midfield maestro is pretty apt. Like a football team, where midfield players need to be ultimately flexible, vacuum lifters like the LiftMaster Pro show fantastic adaptability.

Alongside it, you will find the Kappel DSZ2 900, which has a maximum capacity of 900kg and is just 180mm deep, so is ideal for lifting in difficult spaces, for example behind scaffolding.

On the other side of the lifting midfield, there is the Wirth Oktopus GL-KN 1000. With a lifting capacity of 1000kg, it too has extension arms for lifting larger glass sheets.

Heading the other way in the lifting range, there is the Kappel Hydraulica 750 Compact.

It is compact in design, yet can lift up to 750kg. Like the LiftMaster Pro 800, without extension arms attached, it is even more compact and can still lift 600kg.

The Kappel Hydraulica 750 Compact also has powered tilt and rotate functions, with cabled remote control.
