Hird takes latest Winlet glazing robot to LiftEx 2013
As well as being a glass lifter, it can be easily adapted to transport and lift a range of other materials, including concrete, granite, steel plates, wooden plates, plasterboards, tiles and fire doors.
Hird is taking its latest glazing robot, the Winlet 600, to LiftEx 2013, the leading UK lifting exhibition, to present the machine in the show’s Innovation Theatre.
The Winlet 600 is one of the UK’s most advanced and versatile glazing robots. As well as being a glass lifter, it can be easily adapted to transport and lift a range of other materials, including concrete, granite, steel plates, wooden plates, plasterboards, tiles and fire doors.
With its industry-leading performance and safety capabilities, the Winlet 600 is ready to impress visitors to LiftEx 2013 at the Bolton Arena on 14 and 15 November.
Hird’s Carl Cooper, who will be presenting the glazing robot to a panel of industry experts in the Innovation Theatre, seeking to win the LEEA Most Innovative Product Award, said:
“We are very excited about what this glazing robot offers. “It is based on the Winlet 350, but with some clever design changes, achieves a maximum lift capacity of 600kg, without compromising any of the benefits of the 350, notably its compact shape and manoeuvrability.
“Hird is the UK and Ireland authorised dealer for Winlet glazing robots and we’ve already had a very positive response to the machines from hire and sales customers. We’re hoping the Winlet 600’s appearance at LiftEx 2013 will cement its reputation as the go-to glazing robot in the UK.”
The Winlet 600 is a dual circuit glazing robot, which means if one hydraulic suction circuit fails for any reason, the other will be able to hold the load safely, prevent any risk of injury to operators or damage to the glass or other materials being carried.
Its four powerful vacuum suction cups allows glass to be transported and lifted into position safety, and with precision, even for overhead installation.
Its unique design, allows it to transport, manipulate and install glass in confined spaces, such as balconies and lifts, even taking a full load of glass through narrow doorways.
Because it is powered by electric batteries, this glazing robot is ideal for working both indoors and outdoors and is eco-friendly.
The Winlet 600 is also highly adaptable. It can be fitted with a lifting fork or lifting hook, for lifting pallets or other loads with straps. It can also be fitted with a forklift adaptor for us as a telehandler or forklift.
The Winlet 600 glazing robot has superior safety features. It is fitted with a digital overload monitoring system that continuously measures the point loading on the steering wheels.
If point loading is getting too low the system will automatically cut off the hydraulic functions and only allow hydraulic cylinders to bring the load closer to the machine.
Carl Cooper said:
“We believe the Winlet 600 provides a unique and innovative combination of features in a glazing robot. As such it is at the forefront of glass handling equipment available in the UK.
“It increases productivity, reduces health and safety risks and provides an eco-friendly solution to glass handling and installation.”
