Hird staff grow a ‘Mo’ in aid of cancer research
Staff at Hird have been letting their facial whiskers do the charity fundraising during ‘Movember’.
Across the company’s UK operations, November has turned into Movember as staff joined the global movement to sprout moustaches to raise money for research into prostate and testicular cancer.
A total of 18 previously clean shaven men completed the challenge of growing and grooming a moustache for the whole of November – raising £400 for cancer research.
It meant that Hird’s staff, with a growing reputation for mini crane hire, powered access hire, glass handling hire, machinery moving and contract lifting services, also impressed customers with the quality of their ‘facial furniture’.
To see proof that Hird has a warm upper lip when it comes to cancer research fundraising during Movember, we’ve created a ‘Mo Montage’ of our staff proudly showing off their taches.
Hird Managing Director Phil Hird said: “Taking part in Movember causes quite a stir here. It’s amazing how a few extra whiskers can get you noticed.
“We all had a lot of fun, though a lot of our staff were looking forward to shaving off their moustaches at the end of the month. They could be very itchy! We’re very pleased to have raised money for two excellent medical charities – Prostate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research.”
As well as providing a wide range of excellent moustaches during November, for the full 12 months of the year, Hird also has many other eye-catching and impressive services, including compact crane hire, access platform hire, glass lifting equipment hire, mini crane operator and safety training and machinery relocation services.
