EMU glazing robot provides quick & easy glass installation
Hird provided a glazing package to Chichester District Council to support the building work of a new recessed viewing screen at an important archaeological site in the city.
The glass handling and mini crane specialists supplied an EMU glazing robot enabling glazers to install glass panels, each weighing 296kg, to allow the public a perfect view of remains of Roman public baths.
The EMU is battery powered, so can be used for glass installation either outdoors or inside. The EMU features dual, independent vacuum circuits with two vacuum reserve tanks and four outriggers that provide stability and reduce floor loading.
The specialist glazing robot has a lifting capacity of 500kg and a maximum working radius of 4.4 metres. The EMU also has 10 suction pads linked to 2 vacuum tanks which provide the stability to quickly, safely and accurately install large glass panels to millimeter precision.
Glazing robots for glass installation, such as the EMU, perfectly compliment Hird’ range of mini cranes such as the Valla compact mini cranes and UNIC mini cranes. Using a mini crane and glazing robot together removes the need for manual handling.
The boom hire, scissor lift hire and pick and carry crane hire specialists from Hull, Yorkshire, was able to provide the EMU glazing robot to the job in Chichester from its new Southern depot based in Redhill, Surrey, just outside London.
The full range of glazing robots, along with its range of Valla cranes, UNIC mini cranes, glass lifting equipment and glass lifting accessories is available nationwide, from the Hird Northern, Central and Southern Depots.Full contract lift packages are available if required, so please call: 01482 227333 to discuss your requirements.
