Winlet glazing robots from Hird wow LiftEx

Hird showcased the Winlet 600 glazing robot at LiftEx – winning admiring comments and dozens of expressions of interest from glazing installers and glass lifter hire companies.

The Winlet 600 vacuum robot was selected to take part in machine demonstrates in the Liftex Innovation Theatre during the show at the Bolton Arena on November 14 and 15.

Carl Cooper, of Hird, who presented the glazing robot to the large audience, said he was pleased with the very positive response to its high performance capabilities.

He said:

“The Winlet 600 represents the latest stage in the evolution of glass lifting equipment, though it is such a good machine, we would argue it’s a revolution.

“It was very well received by the hundreds of people who saw it during Liftex.

“They were particularly impressed with its ease of use, its industry-leading degree of control and its compact size in comparison to its awesome lift capability.

“They also understood that, although the Winlet is currently most regularly used as a glazing robot, it is just as capable when handling other smooth and non-porous sheet materials, including, metal, concrete, plastic and wood.”

Hird demonstrated the glazing robot’s electro-hydraulic control systems, which allow materials to be moved a millimetre at a time for precision installation.

The glass handling machine also has an intuitive control system, using a pictorial hand-held console, which supports safe use and ensures operator training is quicker and easier.

The Winlet 600 has been designed to be ultra-compact so it can operate in confined spaces, but can still lift materials weighing up to 600kg, and can be used for overhead installation.

All these features, combined with advanced electronic safety systems, mean the glazing robot offers high productivity, including much reduced product damage risks.

Hird is the UK and Ireland distributor for Winlet glass lifting machines, which also include the Winlet 350 and Winlet 575 glazing robots.
