Lifting and access just got easier – the new Hird Big Blue is here
It might not appear on Richard and Judy’s Best Reads – but, the latest edition of the Hird Big Blue will be top of the list for many lifting and powered access specifiers across the UK.
The number one guide to Hird’s hire services, including spider cranes, pick and carry cranes, powered access platforms, glazing robots, glass vacuum lifters and industrial training, has been brought right up to date.
New equipment has been added – like the Valla V110R electric pick and carry crane and the Maeda MK3053C Eco spider crane, both of which are electric powered and set new standards in low carbon lifting.
Get it at Vertikal Days
The refreshed and fully-updated Hird Big Blue has been printed, ready to be available on Hird’s stand at Vertikal Days on Wednesday 10th May and Thursday 11th May, at the Peterborough Showground.
The new Hird Big Blue also presents new data to help customers select the best machine for any job. For example, new working envelopes are shown for a range of Valla pick and carry cranes when used with fly jibs and fork attachments.
We have also updated specifications – for instance, showing how Hird’s new Valla 250E, with a safe working load of 25,000kgs, can be controlled from an onboard cab or with full wireless remote control.
The new Hird Big Blue also reflects how Hird always seeks to upgrade its hire fleet, something that applies to our glass vacuum lifters, as much as it does to all other equipment.
Glass lifting tech
So, we are able to show how the latest models of the Kappel DSZ3 Slimline glass vacuum lifters we have in stock, which have lifting capacities of 1,200kg or 1,500kg, depending on their configurations, have electric tilt and rotation.
Likewise, the Kappel Adjustable Fin Lifter, designed and manufactured exclusively for Hird, also has electric tilt and rotation, to control with precision loads of between 1,320kg and 1,800kg.
Also in the world of glass lifting, we are showing off our new equipment in the Hird Big Blue, like the Winlet 375 glazing robot.
It has a safe working load of 375kg and is packed with reliable technology to control glass installation with complete precision and unrivalled levels of safety and productivity.
Another glazing robot to appear in the guide for the first time is the Winlet 400 TL. With a SWL of 400kg it delivers a performance hat-trick, with all-terrain capability, a double extension boom and hydraulic side shift for quick and safe glass placing.
Pick from the best brands
Packed into the Hird Big Blue guide is information about all the leading equipment brands Hird has to offer in its hire fleet, including Valla, Maeda, Winlet Glazing Robots & Trolleys, Righetti (cladding lifters) amd Oil&Steel (truck-mounted platforms).
Hird customers and specifiers across a range of sectors – including construction, curtain wall and glass installation, building maintenance, arboriculture, artwork installation, and machinery moving – consider it a vital aid to select the right equipment for their lifting projects.
Details of other Hird services are also presented. They include contract lifting and mobile crane hire, industrial training (including crane and powered access training), and LOLER testing and machine maintenance.
There is also a selection of scores of different lifting accessories available from Hird, via its three regional operating hubs.
Pocket guide too
The Hird Big Blue complements another very popular publication, the Hird Pocket Guide, the first of its kind, and still the best.
The Hird Pocket Guide is packed with equipment and specifications but is small enough to carry around, ready to impart accurate hire advice when and where it is needed.
If you are attending Vertikal Days, visit us at Stand 303 to pick up your copy of the Hird Big Blue and discuss your lifting, access and training needs. We’d be glad to help.
Or request a copy, and view all our other equipment catalogues – including the Hird Pocket Guide 4.0 – by going to the catalogue page on our website.
