Hird takes top glass installation technology to FIT Show 2019

Glazing equipment hire specialist Hird is taking the world’s best glass installation cranes and robots to FIT Show 2019 from 21 to 23 May.

On stand B30, its team of experts are showcasing the most productive, sustainable and safest equipment available on the market for fast and efficient glass installation.

Hird Managing Director Phil Hird said: “Whether the best glass and window installation solution is to use a mini crane or material hoist, combined with a glass vacuum lifter, or a glazing robot, we will have the equipment on our stand.

“Our approach is to offer lifting equipment that is easy to use and delivers the most productive and safest glass installation solutions for all circumstances.”

Winlet gets ready to woo

Hird will have a selection of Winlet glazing robots on display to demonstrate why the machines are impressing glass installation hire customers across the UK.

Hird is the UK and Ireland authorised distributor for the Danish-made glazing robots which deliver industry-leading glass lifting performance, combined with incredible precision in terms of aperture placement.

Gyroscopically-controlled hydraulic systems hold glass loads in precisely the right plane, no matter how it is moved up or down and side to side, so glass panels can be placed with absolutely minimal manual handling.

Pick and carry crane performance

Also on display is the Valla 22E pick and carry crane, which has a maximum safe working load of 2.2 tonnes, and a maximum of 0.5 tonnes at full radius of 2.4 metres. Hird is the authorised dealer for Valla in the UK and Ireland.

As an electric-powered mini crane, the Valla 22E industrial crane delivers low-noise and emission-free lifting, making it highly sustainable. As a compact crane, it is perfectly designed to operate in confined space.

Mini floor crane delivers big for glazing

The Wienold MFC750 mini floor crane is a simple yet powerful lifting option, especially where spaced is at a premium. The counterbalance flood crane can lift up to 750kg.

The material hoist has a maximum lift height of 3.05m. When combined with an electric winch, it is particularly suited for lifting glass loads up the side of buildings.

Glazing manipulator – simple but effective glass lifting

Another very popular Hird is showcasing is the GML800+ glazing manipulator. It has a maximum lifting capacity of 500kg and can lift loads to a height of up to 7.94 metres, even directly overhead

Ease-of-use and durability have been designed into these counterbalance floor cranes, making them ideal choices for a wide range of glass lifting and installation projects, including large retail glass panels.

The glazing manipulator has been co-designed by Hird, Wienold, and Kappel to create a cutting edge machine that can be controlled via radio remote control. It provides 360-degree rotation, 90-degree tilt and lateral side tilt of plus or minus 10 degrees.

Information about all Hird glass lifting equipment, including the widest range of glass vacuum lifters and glass lifting accessories will be available, along with details of accredited glass lifting training.
