Hird pleased with response at Executive Hire Show
Hird was pleased with the response from hire companies at the Executive Hire Show this month after showcasing a Valla mini crane and a Winlet glazing robot on its stand.
Visitors to the show at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry stopped to take a close look at the lifting equipment, showing a growing interest in such machines in the tool and equipment rental industry.
Hird mini crane sales representative Carl Cooper said:
“We wanted to attend the Executive Hire Show because we believe there is a strong and growing interest in mini cranes and other lifting solutions like glazing robots in the tool and equipment rental sector.
“The reaction we received from visitors confirmed that view.
We were pleased with the response. What was interesting was that attendance at the show was up 20 per cent on last year, reflecting growing confidence in economic recovery.”
Hird is the approved UK and Ireland distributor for both Valla mini cranes and Winlet glass handling robots.
The company had a Valla 25EL electric mini crane and a Winlet 350 glass handling robot on display at the Executive Hire Show.
Tool and equipment rental companies are looking to widen the range of equipment they make available as customers, such as construction and FM companies, continue the process of rationalising their supply chains.
Carl Cooper said:
“Valla 25EL electric mini cranes are perfect for the rental market. They are versatile pick and carry cranes and have a very impressive lift to weight ratio. We also supply diesel Valla mini cranes with a range of lifting capacities.
“End users, such as construction companies and manufacturers are already finding out how mini cranes can help them improve productivity and reduce overall lifting costs, which is why mini cranes are now attracting the close attention of the tool hire rental companies
“Mini cranes were once considered a specialist piece of kit. But now they are entering the main stream rental market.”
Glass handling robots like the Winlet 350, with a glass lifting and carrying capacity of 350kg, and larger models, such as the Winlet 600, are also proving their worth.
Carl added:
“For forward-thinking facilities management and construction companies, where the target is zero manual handling and zero accidents, Winlet glazing robots are very attractive. Not least because it can be used to carry and fit a wide range of materials such as wood, plastic, plasterboard and metal, as well as glass.
“We’re very pleased to see that our mini cranes and glazing robots are making tool and equipment hire companies take notice.”
Hird, with a head office, in Hull, Yorkshire, provides a nationwide service, offering mini cranes, glass handling equipment and powered access machines for rent or sale via three UK regions.
