Hird equipment hire power on show at EHS 2026
Powered access and lifting machines that make Hird’s rental fleet one of the most diverse and capable in the UK will be on display at Executive Hire Show 2026.
The company’s sales arm, Hird Sales, will showcase the value of other rental businesses investing in the equipment at the CBS Arena on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February.
All the machines are already available in Hird’s hire fleet, demonstrating every day just why they are also being snapped up by rental companies across the UK.
Impressive machines on display on Stand A62 include the Oil&Steel Octoplus 17 spider lift, the Winlet 785 glazing robot, and ErgoMover electric materials trolley.
Carl Cooper, Sales and After-Sales Manager at Hird Sales, said: “All these machines are the best in class. For example, Winlet glazing robots and electric trolleys greatly improve productivity, allowing users to do more with smaller teams.”

Industry-leading spider lifts
Hird is the UK and Ireland distributor for Winlet, which manufactures ErgoMover electric trolleys, and the UK distributor for Oil&Steel platforms, which include spider lifts and self-drive truck mounted platforms.
Importantly, the machines on display on the Hird Sales stand at Executive Hire Show 2026 have been proven time and again by impressing Hird hire customers.
Take, for the example, the Oil&Steel Octoplus 17 spider cherry picker, which delivers industry-leading performance, including a maximum 17m working height and 7.6m outreach.
The highly versatile tracked MEWP is at the forefront of a trend to carry out building inspections and repairs from spider lifts, eliminating the need for costly scaffolding, increasing productivity and optimising safety.
Hird’s access platform hire fleet also offers the Octoplus 21, with a maximum working height of 20.7m and an outreach of 10.6m.
More productive and safer glass lifting
Hird also operates the UK’s biggest hire fleet of Winlet glazing robots.
The self-propelled battery electric Winlet 785 glazing robot delivers class-leading vacuum glass lifting with a maximum capacity of 785kg, and a maximum lifting height of 3970mm.
The machine has unrivalled ability to control and manipulate large glazed panels – as well as plastic and metal sheets – and place them with precision in apertures at any angle.
The glazing robot – one of a range with capacities from 375kg to 1000kg – can be operated by one person with a remote control unit to complete glazing tasks that might otherwise need a team of three or four people.
All-terrain materials moving
Winlet’s ErgoMover materials trolleys do for materials moving what the glazing robots do for glass lifting. Hird’s hire fleet has two versions, the ErgoMover Manipulator and the ErgoMover Lift and Go.
The ErgoMover Manipulator can hydraulically lift stacks of materials weighing up to 1100kg from trestles, transport them across rugged terrain and then lift them to a near vertical position for off-loading.
In this way, it is an ideal machine for transporting plasterboard and other sheet material, including plywood or plastic sheets.
The ErgoMover Lift and Go, meanwhile, can lift and lower loads weighing up to 1500kg. It also has a rotating load bed for precise positioning during loading and unloading.
