Making Panel Installation Easy with the Geko PV+

Making Panel Installation Easy with the Geko PV+

Hird has provided the vacuum technology necessary to enable one of its customers to quickly and safely install composite panels. The boom hire, scissor lift hire and pick and carry compact crane hire specialists from Hull, Yorkshire, recently supplied a Geko PV+ (glaslift 250) which can pick, carry and install panels weighing up to 175kg.

The Geko PV+, available from the Hird Northern Depot, Central Depot and Southern Depot is the ideal machine for handling and installing building panels, along with composite and unitised windows. The vacuum technology allows its operator to avoid most manual handling of panels, therefore greatly reducing the risk of back injury.

One of the most popular machines available for hire or sale in the Hird glass handling and glazing robots range, The Geko PV+ has a horizontal lifting arm which allows horizontal pick up and a rotation of 180 degrees enabling overhead installation.

The Geko PV+ is also available with extension arms to accommodate a wide variety of window designs and 300mm and 500mm extension rods that enable the pads to straddle deep mullions.

Other glazing robots available to all Hird customers include:

Vacuum Tech MV 300.3 – lifting capacity: 300 kg
Geko + MRT4 – lifting capacity: 250 kg
Geko PV – lifting capacity 250kg

Should training be required, Hird can deliver a broad portfolio of courses at highly competitive rates, including glazing robot training courses, crane operator training such as A66 courses and IPAF powered access training.
