Product of The Month – DSZ3 Slimline vacuum lifter
Product of The Month for November is our new DSZ3 Slimline vacuum lifter – an innovative piece of equipment that is compact, but has an impressive lifting capacity.
The DSZ3 Slimline, supplied by Kappel, has the latest design features that meet current trends in glass installation, including the increasing use of non-standard glazing panels, and industry-leading safety technology.
Class-leading heavy duty vacuum lifter
The DSZ3 Slimline is an increased capacity version of the DSZ2 – already a popular machine in our vacuum lifter hire fleet.
Its large vacuum cups create the lifting power, but are set close together, so non-regular shaped panels can be lifted with ease.
Using the six main vacuum cups – each one with a diameter of 520mm – the vacuum lifter has a maximum safe load of 1200kg.
It can also be deployed with six short extension arms, each with a vacuum cup 330mm in diameter. In this extended setting, the machine can lift up to 1500kg.
Power is 12v DC supplied by two rechargeable batteries, with an integral 110v or 240v charger, and battery energy gauge.
Key features for safe vacuum lifting
The DSZ3 Slimline has the latest safe lifting systems, including dual independent vacuum circuits, two vacuum reserve tanks, and two non-return valves.
This means, even if there is a catastrophic loss of power, the vacuum lifter will not drop its load.
Each circuit has its own vacuum gauge, and there is also an audio-visual low vacuum alert, so the operator can be sure that the lifter is set up to operate at its optimum capacity.
Designed to make glass installation easier
The DSZ3 Slimline vacuum lifter has excellent operational performance, to help glass installers overcome a wide range of challenges.
It has 360º continuous manual lockable rotation, so glass panels can be picked up easily, then manipulated to be positioned with precision.
The vacuum lifter can also be tilted through 900, with hydraulic assistance, to ensure movement can be controlled with full confidence, and minimal manual handing support.
Vacuum lifting customer support from Hird
Hird makes sure all its vacuum lifters are maintained to the highest standards. They go through a full series of maintenance checks each time they return to us after a lifting project.
Our LEEA-accredited lifting engineers attend worksites to support vacuum lifting operations, and carry out maintenance work, so operational down-time is minimised.
Hird also provides high quality vacuum lifter operator training, both at our own training centres, and at our customers’ worksites.
