  • Full colour monitor

The crane’s functions are monitored and controlled using a touch-sensitive 7-inch full colour screen, giving clear information about the lifting status at all times.

  • Safety devices

The Maeder CC985S-1 crawler crane has a range of practical safety devices, including a slew restriction device for working near sensitive structures, such as power lines.

  • Searcher hook

Aids lifting loads under roof overhangs or where reach is compromised by obstacles.

  • Zero degree overhang

When slewing, the cab stays within the vertical plane of the tracks. This allows the crawler crane to lift close to buildings with no risk of the cab colliding with a structure.

  • Modern cab

The crane operator is kept comfortable inside a heated cab, with a radio for those quiet moments between lifts.

  • Automatic pentagonal boom

All boom sections (the Maeder CC985S-1 has five of them) automatically extend at the same time, rather than in sequence. A pentagonal boom has five sides, making it stronger than a standard box boom.

  • Excellent working height and reach

For such a compact crane, the Maeder CC985S-1 has an impressive main boom maximum lifting height of 16.5m (1.4t) and maximum working radius of 14.67m (200kg).

  • Two-speed winch

This allows the hook block to be raised or lowered at the higher speed when not loaded to save time. The crane can be combined with a range of other lifting accessories, for example vacuum glass lifters.

  • Wrap around fly jib

A fly jib is stored on the boom and can be moved into position to extend the maximum lifting height to 20.2m, with a maximum load of 430kg.

  • Pick and carry duties

The Maeder CC985S-1 crawler crane has the compactness of a spider crane and the lifting power of a pick and carry crane. It has a maximum safe working load of 4.9t and can carry loads of up to 2t.

  • Negative duty

The long length of cable on the Maeda crawler crane supports lifting below ground level, for example into and out of deep shafts or over dock walls down to 100 metres.
