Product of the Month – ErgoMover electric materials trolley

Product of the Month – ErgoMover electric materials trolley

When a workforce is under stress it really does benefit from simple but powerful solutions for basic tasks. Which is why our Product of the Month for February is the ErgoMover.

Construction is one of the key industries the government has encouraged to continue working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

That does not mean that building contractors of all shapes and sizes have not been challenged by working through the crisis. This is where labour-saving equipment like Hird’s Winlet ErgoMover electric material transport trolley comes into its own.

Contractors have been hit hard, like other employers, by key workers having to self-isolate or shield themselves as the COVID-19 pandemic has been running its course. COVID-19 secure environments also create significant social distancing challenges.

Forward thinking ones have folded into their response a search for equipment that improves building site productivity and safety, allowing more to be done, more quickly and more safely with fewer hands.

Designed for moving materials

Our ErgoMover electric materials transport trolley sits perfectly in this space. It is designed specifically to get building materials and equipment across a busy and bumpy building site quickly and safely, operated by just one person.

Where, previously, some materials may have been carried by hand from A to B, loaded into excavator buckets, or slung on the forks of telehandlers, the ErgoMover Lift and Go is specifically designed for the purpose in hand.

  • It is an electric trolley, so is highly sustainable, creating no polluting emissions and is low-noise.
  • It is extremely robust, so can be trusted to keep going day after day.
  • It is very compact, so takes up no additional space on a construction site.

While the movement of a bulky excavator or telehandler presents a significant risk to workers and is constrained by site layout, the Winlet ErgoMover is a much safer, go-anywhere materials transport solution.

The ErgoMover establishes the safety principle that the most appropriate lifting solution should always be used. Let the digger or telehandler be used for their main purposes.

The electric trolley has a maximum safe working load of 1500kg, yet its carrying deck is just 700mm wide and 1645mm long. The whole trolley is just 3150mm long, including its control arm. Its chunky wheels and 4-wheel steering make light work of rugged terrain.

That control arm allows the operator to easily control the 24-volt electric power delivered by long-lasting batteries, which drives the trolley up to a maximum speed of 4 mph.

ErgoMover – three options

ErgoMover Go

This is a powerful transport trolley without hydraulic functions for applications that only require easy and safe transport of materials.

ErgoMover Lift & Go

This has all the benefits of the basic ErgoMover with the addition of a hydraulic lifting system, making it possible to set off loads, for example plasterboard or wood packs, onto trestles.

ErgoMover Manipulator

This version also has hydraulic tilt function so one operative can take building materials, such as cladding, wood and plastic sheeting, across a worksite then offload then in a vertical plane.

There is also the option of a rotating trolley table, to facilitate the optimum placement of loads before they are lifted.

As Hird is the UK and Ireland distributor for Winlet products, the ErgoMover electric materials transport trolley is available for hire and for sale.

If you are looking to transform the materials handling and transport process on your worksites, making it safer and more productive – allowing operatives to do more with less in a COVID-19 secure environment – call Hird today and talk to use about the Winlet ErgoMover Lift and Go.
