CPCS A66 Compact Crane
Compact Cranes Novice Course, including CPCS Technical Test
(Endorsement A: Static Stabilisers or Endorsement B: Mobile Industrial)
This course is aimed at anyone who is required to operate compact cranes with little or no compact crane experience. Good hand/eye co-ordination is essential.

No previous experience required. However, good hand/eye co-ordination is essential.
Course content:
- Legislation & Codes of practice
- Introduction to lifting operations
- Roles and responsibilities of lifting personnel
- Components & terminology
- Maintenance, inspection & pre-use checks
- Proximity hazards
- Ground Conditions
- Identifying weights & centre of gravity of loads
- Positioning & preparation of the crane for work
- Programme safe-load indicators & setup for lifting duties
- Deploy outriggers to specification (Endorsement A: Static Stabilisers only
- Manoeuvring in confined spaces
- Safe operation of the crane with & without loads
- Methods of communication & following signals
- Selection & use of lifting accessories
- Travelling the crane with a load attached (Endorsement B: Mobile Industrial only)
- Environmental conditions
- Shut down& securing procedures
- Loading & unloading procedures for machine transportation, including towing

- £50 per delegate notification fee, paid to the CPCS on your behalf

Health & Safety Test:
All candidates participating on CPCS courses/tests must pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test before any testing or training begins (if not passed in the last 2 years of the CPCS Technical Test).The entry level for course is the CSCS Operators test.
