CPCS is a card scheme to prove the skills of plant operators. It is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry. It helps to prove workers’ operating skills and health and safety awareness. The Construction Plant Competence Scheme provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry.
Categories available to train & test:
Construction Skills Health & Safety Test
All candidates participating on CPCS Technical Tests need to successfully complete the appropriate ConstructionSkills Health & Safety Test before any CPCS Technical Test begins. This test helps to raise standards across the industry. It ensures that workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. It should be used as a stepping stone encouraging employers and their workforce to go on and develop their knowledge even further.
All tests last for 45 minutes and have 50 multiple-choice questions. The minimum entry level for most categories is the ‘CSCS Operators’ test. However, for the A61 Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) category candidates need to pass the ‘CSCS Managers & Professionals test and for the A62 Crane Lifting Operations Supervisor the entry level is ‘CSCS Supervisory’.
