Mini crane and spider crane specialist Hird has sold a Valla mini crane to chemical giant BASF in Brazil.
The new Valla 30E mini crane has been supplied to the German company’s operations in Sao Paolo.
BASF Brazil approached Hird, based in Hull, East Yorkshire, as a leading supplier of Valla pick and carry mini cranes for sale and for hire.
Hird mini crane sales and aftersales manager Carl Cooper said: “The deal began as a web enquiry from BASF Brazil, asking about the Valla 30E mini crane.
“It was clear that they knew the type and specification of mini crane they required, and wanted to work with the right distributer to supply it.”
The electric-powered Valla 30E mini crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 3 tonnes, weighs 2.5 tonnes and is 1240mm wide.
Its compact dimensions and fume-free operation make it ideal for working in low level internal areas.
Hird is the UK and Ireland distributor for Valla pick and carry mini cranes – but receives enquiries from potential clients around the world.
Carl Cooper said: “We work very closely with Valla Cranes, the manufacturers in Italy, so can quickly and smoothly facilitate mini crane sales anywhere in the world.
“Also, as Valla Cranes is now owned by Manitex International, we are expecting interest in Valla mini cranes to be generated in new global markets.
“So it will be no surprise if these enquiries about mini cranes for sale increase over the next two years.”
Hird can supply new mini cranes, like the Valla 30E pick and carry crane sold to BASF Brazil. Or it can provide used and reconditioned mini cranes.
Carl Cooper said: “We can source and recondition and certificate used mini crane in our own workshop.
“Certainly, the quality of Valla mini cranes means there is strong demand for reconditioned machines, which can be a more cost-effective option.
“We would welcome more enquiries from Brazil, or anywhere else in the world, about new mini cranes or used machines.”
