Glass Lifting for Glazing Installation

Glass Lifting for Glazing Installation

Hird is building on its reputation as one of the UK’s most reliable companies for glass lifter hire.

The glass handling specialist is continuing to expand its fleet of glass lifting equipment, ensuring that its UK customers can carry out commercial glazing work both quickly and efficiently.

Glass lifting equipment is often referred to as vacuum lifting equipment due to the use of suction cups that create a vacuum to hold sheets of glass in place.

Whilst a glass vacuum lifter is used for actually holding a sheet of glass ready for the installation, the glass lifter is used in conjunction with a mini crane and/or a pick and carry crane.

Our range of vacuum glass lifting equipment for hire includes small units, such as the Woods Powr-Grip MT2 which features 2 suction pads that can lift up to 135kg in weight, through to large units with 16 suction pads that can lift up to 1,200kg in weight such as the Hydraulica 1200.

As well as vacuum glass lifters, Hirds offers a fleet of glazing robots – all in one machines that work completely independently and have their own power and hydraulic systems on board – ideal for handling and installing composite and unitised windows.

Along with the fleet of glass lifters, we can supply a number of glass lifting accessories, such as trolleys and stillages, A frames, material hoists, counterbalance floor cranes and glazing ancillaries such as platform trucks, outrigger mats, timber billets/sleepers and glass suction cups, sometimes known as glass suction lifters.

Our vast range of vacuum glass lifting equipment is available to customers anywhere throughout the UK from the Southern depot, serving London and the south, Central depot serving the Midlands and Wales and the Northern depot based at the head office in Hull, serving the North and Scotland.

As well as glass lifting solutions, Hird can also offer full contract glass lifting packages, so please call: 01482 227333 to discuss your requirements.
