New Pasma Course

New Pasma Course

The Training division of Hull based cranes and access company Hird have piloted a new PASMA course. The PASMA work @ height essentials course is an updated version of the work @ height basics course.

The new course aims to give those employees who work at height a better understanding of their duties and responsibilities it also gives valuable advice on safe practice with specific reference to MEWPS, scaffolding [mobile and fixed], ladders and stepladders as well as roofs and fragile surfaces.

The course is 4 hours long with a maximum of twelve delegates per session. Tony Armitage assistant training manager and the PASMA instructor who has delivered the new course said “I believe anyone who works at height would benefit from attending one of these sessions and their employers can ensure that their operatives have gained a working at height qualification from a nationally accepted awarding body.”

Tony Armitage has recently been accepted as a Senior IPAF instructor which allows Hird to now offer the “IPAF MEWPS for Managers” course to their customers.

At present, Hird training provides courses in access, manufacturing, construction, and lifting fields, as well as health & safety and is accredited by IPAF, PASMA, CPCS, City & Guilds, RTITB and others they are now able to offer upwards of 150 individual courses.
