Hird takes delivery of Grove

Lifting and access firm Hird has taken delivery of a new 100 tonne Grove GMK4100L all-terrain crane.

The crane was officially handed over to at the company’s headquarters in Hull, East Yorkshire, this week.

Hird Managing Director Phil Hird said: “This is an important addition to our lifting fleet. Our lifting business is growing, and we’re investing to meet specific customer demands.

“The GMK4100L has impressive performance, combined with the versatility needed to operate on a wide range of sites and applications.”

The four axle GMK4100L features a 60 metre main boom and can lift up to 1.6 tonnes at a radius of 48 metres.

It has a chassis length of 10.7 metres and features all-wheel steering and Manitowoc’s Megatrak suspension.

Hird operates from three depots across the UK, providing a range of Valla pick and carry cranes, as well as aerial lifts and glass lifting rental equipment.

The company is also the dealer for 3B6, Valla Cranes and Winlet glazing robots.
