Hird expands scissor lift hire fleet as demand for powered access grows

Hird has added extra machines to its scissor lift hire fleet to meet growing demand for powered access rental support from both current customers and new ones.

As the economy continues to recover, scissor lift hire enquiries have increased, and there is also greater awareness of the benefits of using powered access equipment, like scissor lifts and cherry pickers, said Hird Managing Director Phil Hird.

He added: “Since January, we have invested £1.1 million in new equipment, and a sizeable proportion of that has been used to expand our powered access hire fleet.

“We will continue to ensure we offer the best and most up-to-date powered access machines, including scissor lifts, across the range of applications, including rough terrain, internal and bi fuel scissor lifts.”

Scissor lifts for every need

Hird is expanding its scissor hire lift fleet so it continues to have machines that perfectly match its customers’ requirements, available when they are needed. Additional scissor lifts bought since January include:

Genie GS-3232 scissor lift

This scissor lift is ideal for working in tight spaces, where maintenance and installation work is carried out on firm, level surfaces.

The GS-3232 has a maximum working height of 11.75m and a maximum lift capacity of 227kg. With a width of just 0.81m it can be moved around easily inside buildings, making it ideal for facilities management tasks.

The GS-3232 scissor lift is very quiet, and being electric powered, is a zero emissions machine. Its extendable platform means there is plenty of room to work in, and for storing tools.

Genie GS-4047 scissor lift

These scissor lifts are designed to meet the demands of working in high rise indoor spaces.

So this could be the scissor lift hire option for clients needed to carry out high-level maintenance in large office atriums, or for maintenance in factories and warehouses.

The Genie GS-4047 is drivable at its full height of 13.93m, which it can reach in just 70 seconds. It can also operate on 25% slopes so can get up inclines such as loading ramps.

Excellent battery power allows Genie GS-4047 scissor lifts to operate for a whole eight hour shift before needing a recharge. It has zero inside turning radius for excellent manoeuvrability in tight spaces and in narrow aisles.

Genie GS-5390 RT (Rough Terrain) scissor lift

Genie rough terrain scissor lifts are built for the great outdoors, especially for construction environments, making them very popular machines in the Hird scissor lift hire fleet.

They are perfect for operating on demanding worksites. The Genie GS-5390 RT scissor lift has a maximum working height of 18.15m and an excellent lift capacity of 680kg.

Four-wheel drive and positive traction control make these scissor lifts ideal for crossing uneven and unstable ground. Safety functions are excellent, with a descent alarm, load sensor, and tilt sensor with an audible alarm. The machines have automatic levelling outriggers and an on-board diagnostic system.
