Hird bares all with its Anatomy of a Mini Crane

Hird bares all with its Anatomy of a Mini Crane

Lifting and powered access specialist Hird has revealed all by creating an interactive Anatomy of a Mini Crane.

The feature, available to view on the Hird website, is designed to help mini crane hire customers and mini crane sales clients know more about how the machines work.

Hird Managing Director Phil Hird said: “We work with mini cranes every day, so we understand them inside out.

“But we realised many of our customers, especially our mini crane hire customers, might want to know more about what goes on under the skin of a mini crane.

“Anatomy of a Mini Crane is a quick guide that shows how these mighty mini machines work, and why they are so effective at what they do.”

The first Anatomy of a Mini Crane features a Valla 25EL pick and carry mini crane, an electric mini crane that is ideal for a range of functions, including glass lifting and installation, machinery moving and facilities maintenance.

Anatomy of a Mini Crane allows the viewer to click on different points of the image to reveal information about what each part of the crane does.

Features explained including the boom, recoil drum, jib head, transducers and driver tiller.

Phil Hird said: “Mini cranes like the Valla 25EL pick and carry crane, have developed rapidly over recent years, especially in terms of technology to enhance safety and lifting control, such as the 3B6 load monitoring systems that are fitted as standard.

“These features allow our mini crane hire customers to use these machines with greater confidence. They allow lifting and moving projects to be completed more productively, more safely and more cost-effectively.

“We are confident our Anatomy of a Mini Crane will clearly reveal the benefits of mini crane hire and use to even more customers, and have plans to show the anatomies of other mini cranes in our mini crane fleet in due course.”

Hird has one of the largest and most modern mini crane hire fleets in the UK, with a range of machines for many different uses.

They include pick and carry cranes and spider cranes. All machines are available across the UK via Hird’s regional operational centres.
