Hird is celebrating 30 years of the delivering a reliable, high quality and cost-effective contract lifting service to industry.

Many customers take advantage of our mini crane hire service, offering the modern, high performance lifting equipment in the UK, including Valla mini cranes and UNIC spider cranes.

Our contract lifting service takes our service a step further. We provide the mini cranes and other lifting equipment, plus qualified and experienced crane operators. We also take responsibility for planning and executing the lift safely and effectively.

We have been providing a contract lifting service since 1983. Our teams are trained to comply with BS 7121 Safe Use of Cranes, plus LOLER and PUWER regulations.

While the customer retains some key liabilities, one of the benefits of using the Hird contract lifting service is that we retain responsibility for the equipment, its operators and the performance of the lift.

We are also liable for damage to the lifting equipment used, goods lifted, customer property, third party property and related injury, for which we have insurance appropriate to the terms of the contract.

Our contract lifting service is used in a wide range of industries, including aerospace, construction, fabrication, petro-chemical,
food production and heavy engineering.

Hird’s contract lifting service can be accessed across the UK, via our three depots.

The Southern Depot covers London and the south, our Central Depot serves the Midlands and our Northern Depot and head office is in Hull, Yorkshire.
